Nathan exploring all options for recovery
While the Twins and Joe Nathan are hoping that rest and rehab will allow his injured right elbow to heal in the near future, the closer does have other treatment options, if needed.

Nathan has elbow tear, will rest for now
Twins closer Joe Nathan has what was termed a "significant tear" to the ulnar collateral ligament in his right elbow, he and the Twins announced Tuesday.

Valencia's late homer sinks Cardinals
Third-base prospect Danny Valencia hit a solo homer with two outs in the bottom of the eighth to break a tie as the Twins edged the Cardinals, 7-6, on Tuesday. Justin Morneau doubled in a pair, giving him six RBIs this spring.

Twins exploring possible closer options
While the Twins remain hopeful that closer Joe Nathan can avoid surgery and return to the mound in 2010, it's now necessary to at least begin a process to consider a contingency plan should Nathan need to go under the knife.

Slowey, Blackburn sharp on the hill
