Tips
Phoenix to Tucson Most cactus league fans stay in the greater Phoenix area, but if you want to travel to Tucson to see the Diamondbacks, be prepared for an 1 ½ to 2 hour drive from Phoenix to Tucson. You should budget an entire day for these teams, but it is well worth the trip!
Macayo's Mexican Kitchen No trip to Arizona for Spring Training is complete without enjoying the best tasting Mexican food around. Macayo's Mexican Kitchen is an Arizona tradition, serving delicious chimichangas, tacos and enchiladas in town since 1946. Before or after the game, fans can visit either of our Tucson locations at Broadway & Kolb, and Oracle & Ina.
Don’t Forget to Bring A Hat And Stay Hydrated This may sound obvious and not much of a tip, but trust me, this is by far the hottest place in the Cactus League to see a game, the sun is right in your grill. Don’t forget to bring a hat and stay hydrated. Joe Connor, Author of A Fan’s Guide To The Ultimate Spring Training Experience, www.modernerabaseball.com
History is Literally on the Wall Hi Corbett Field is the oldest ballpark used in the Cactus League and hosted the first spring training game between Major League teams in Arizona back in 1947. And by then the ballpark was already ten years old! Many greats have graced the field in its over six decades of continous spring training use -- 74 Hall of Famers in fact. The name of each is listed on the park's Wall of Fame, found on the concourse behind home plate. Just like the ballpark, it's a real treat for those who love the history of the game.
